Summer fun whale watching tour Monmouth County

Summer fun whale watching tour Monmouth County

July 09, 2020 8 Comments

The whale watching in the last week has been nothing short of spectacular, and the last four trips we were seeing 3 to 4 different whales on each trip. How do we know they're different whales? By the unique tail print on the underside of the whales tail as you might call it.

Jersey Shore Whale Watch - we have the biggest boat, we can get you to where the whales are in a fun, safe, matter with plenty of social distancing in this time of COVID-19. We ask that you wear a mask while boarding; once you’re at your seat you can take it off. If you need to go to the bathroom, you need to put it back on. If you go to the front bow of the boat where the best whale watching is, please wear it. You will be able to see whales right from your seat, you don’t need to get up and move around but many people do.

Whale watching is really fun for all ages, although a two-year-old can be more work for the mom that it might be worth. Five-year-olds will love it; they see the whales and they’re really impressed and hearing them describe the whales is pretty amusing. We’ve also had seniors of all ages, in fact the mother of one of the captains came out last year twice, once alone and again with her girlfriends at 97 years old and enjoyed it so much that she came back the second time. There are plenty of safe areas for someone to just sit and enjoy the trip and see the occasional whale without having to get up and go to the front of the boat. However, if you are a senior and still want to go to the front, I have seen many seniors in their 80s moved to the front of the boat, sometimes with assistance from our crew. We want everyone to have a great safe trip, and we will do the utmost to make sure that happens.

The boat has two full-size bathrooms and a kitchen on board that sells snacks and drinks. However, because of COVID-19 they’re not cooking food currently. The boat has two levels, plenty of room to socially distance, and we do take this seriously as we want everyone to have a safe, enjoyable experience.
Our beautiful T-shirts are available for purchase on the boat. They're $15 at the boat, and $20 online plus shipping. Thank you for supporting Jersey Shore Whale Watch; we look forward to taking you out this summer to see the giants of the sea.
We will be running a couple whale watching safaris this summer. What makes them different from the regular whale watching trip is that we will be looking for proper lighting for photographing the wheels and trying to get better backgrounds, which might be New York City, Asbury Park, etc. There’s some great backgrounds that would make for really unique photos, and we will do our best to have both the best light and background possible, so you can get an amazing photo.

The famed Thunderbirds and Blue Angels will perform air shows honoring health care workers and other essential employees working during the coronavirus crisis, President Donald Trump said Wednesday.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Thunderbirds and the U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels, will honor those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic with a formation flight over Philadelphia.

The salute, from the Air Force and Navy, is in honor of healthcare workers, first responders, military, and other essential personnel -- while standing in solidarity -- with all Americans during this crisis.

The flyover will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday and last about 20 minutes.

"We are truly excited to take to the skies with our Navy counterparts for a nation-wide tribute to the men and women keeping our communities safe." said U.S. Air Force Lt. Col. John Caldwell, Thunderbird 1 and mission commander for the flyover. "We hope to give Americans a touching display of American resolve that honors those serving on the frontline of our fight with COVID-19."
The formation flights will also happen over New York City, Newark and Trenton.

Residents will be able to see the flyover from the safety of their home. All social distancing guidelines remain in effect.
